This beautiful 1953 Mercury Monterey comes from a prestigous Southern California collection and a very knowledgable collector. This car was the recipient of a full frame off rotisserie restoration to the highest of standards. Being the last year of the flat head V8 and its most powerful incarnation with the 4bbl carburetor and dual exhaust, most of the cars were canabalized and turned into hot rods. It is truly a breath of fresh air to see one retored to original specifications in its original color combination of Tahiti Tan/Bittersweet with tan and orange interior. The car made an excellent candidate for restoration as all components were present on the car and the body was rust and accident free. Over the course of the years long restoration, no exspense was spared to bring the car back to its original glory. Equipped with the flathead V8, power steering, power brakes, 3 speed manual transmission, it is a very comfortable, enjoyable, and easy car to drive. The car comes with pictures of the entire restoration process. It is highly detailed throughout including the pristine undercarriage. Having won its share of shows and concours this car remains ready to compete, or to be driven and enjoyed.
