We are pleased to offer our 1967 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Roadster. 1967 was the last year of the most desirable series 1 cars. as a series 1 car it predates tightening US emissions regulations that drastically altered the later cars. The Series 1 can be recognised by glass covered headlights (up to 1967), small "mouth" opening at the front, signal lights and tail-lights above bumpers and exhaust tips under the licence plate in the rear. As the last of the series 1 cars it is equipped with triple SU carburetion. Further late series 1 advantages were fully synchronized 4 speed transmission, diaphragm clutch, alternator rather than generator, improved braking charachteristics, imroved electrical systems and a higher final drive ratio. This exceptional example was frame off restored by a Jaguar marque specialist here in Southern California. The total nut and bolt rotisserie restoration was completed late 2009. All records of restoration accompany the car. This example is finished in red with hand selected tan hides and complimented by a black soft top and chrome wire wheels. It is fully numbers matching. It is documented with its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate verifying it as fully numbers matching and an original Carmen Red car. It was restored to an exceptionally high standard and drives superbly. This car is absolutely ready to be driven, shown and enjoyed. The XK-E's were true sports cars in every sense. Offering four wheel indpendent suspension with four wheel disc brakes. The 4.2 liter in-line six delivers 265hp and a very linear torque curve for power at all speeds and in all situations. Designed by Malcolm Sayer utilizing the latest in aerodynamics with a monocoque body and a tubular front chassis. It interesting to note that apon its release at Geneva, Enzo Ferrari called it the most beautiful car ever made and it consistently ranks as such. This example will not disappoint.
