245 CID Six-Cylinder Engine 100 BHP At 3|600 RPM 3-Speed Manual Overdrive More Rare Than A Packard Darrin Delivered in May 1940 by Alvan T. Fuller| the Boston Packard dealer| this car appeared in California in the mid-1970s. Although its wood was still in excellent condition| it was treated to a lavish restoration by its owner| and avid Packard collector. When the restoration was completed| the car was ensconced in a specially built alcove in the owner living room. It appeared on the cover of Packards International magazine in 1989| but was otherwise rarely shown. With new ownership| it has been kept in climate-controlled storage and was given an extensive restoration to current standards by Custom Auto Service in 2006-07. Fewer than a dozen 1940 Packard station wagons are known to survive| only one or two of them in condition comparable to this car and none more authentic or better detailed. It is a Packard International Circle of Champions Recipient| and consistent Packard class winner.
